canker sore remedies that DON’T work

Over the years, I came across a wide array of supposed canker sore remedies that simply didn’t work.  It was a thoroughly depressing process, finding a new, hyped, often over-priced product, trying it, and finding it to be an abysmal failure.
Some of the remedies that I found to be ineffective include:

Icing the sore
Zilcatin
Anbesol
Bee pollen/bee products
Myrrh
Crushed aspirin
Antivirals
